IIQE Examination Fees: The Official Table for All Three Modes

Fees are one of the few things about the IIQE you can pin down exactly, yet the numbers circulating online mix current and superseded figures. This page lists only what the official handbook says.

The official fee table

For the same Paper I: HK$195 on paper, HK$265 on computer, HK$850 remotely.

The computer-based mode costs HK$70 more per paper, and returns your result on screen immediately; the paper-and-pencil mode takes five full working days. Across three papers the difference is HK$210 — which buys you knowing the outcome the same day, and being able to decide about a resit straight away. For most candidates that is worth it.

How to pay

Visa, Mastercard or UnionPay credit card, only through the online enrolment system (clause 4.2).

Refund rules

• Online enrolment must be completed within 20 minutes, or the selected session is not held and you

must start again

• If your enrolment is not accepted, the fee is refunded
• Once your enrolment is accepted, the fee is neither refundable nor transferable to another person

or another examination

• Your personal particulars must match your Hong Kong identity card or passport exactly — a

discrepancy means you are not admitted, the fee is not refunded, and the entry cannot be transferred

Those last two together are a real trap: an error in your identity details costs you both the fee and the seat. During those 20 minutes, the document-number field is worth checking twice.

One more: on the day you must bring the original of the same identity document you enrolled with. Enrolling with a passport and turning up with an identity card means you are not admitted.
