We do not have Paper II chapter data yet — stated plainly
For Papers I and III we publish a chapter-level expected-loss distribution built on real answers (Paper I · Paper III), because those papers have accumulated 4,057 and 3,295 answers respectively.
Paper II does not yet have a sufficient sample, so this page gives no chapter distribution.
We hold ourselves to a hard rule: if the answers we hold do not cover at least 95% of a paper's official chapter weighting, we do not publish difficulty data for that paper. A truncated denominator silently inflates the apparent importance of the chapters that remain, and the reader cannot see it happening. The rule is enforced by a script, not by memory.
(Which also means: when you see "the key chapters of Paper II" elsewhere, it is worth asking what the sample size was.)
So how should you allocate time on Paper II
Until we have data, we will only say things that have a source:
- Get the chapter weightings from the official syllabus. Handbook clauses 2.1.4 and 14.1 state that
the syllabus and study notes for each paper are downloadable free from both the PEAK website and the Insurance Authority website. Get those before buying any preparation material
- Allocating by weighting is a sound second-best starting point. It lacks the accuracy dimension,
but it at least avoids the "start at Chapter 1 and work through" trap of spending your best hours on material you already know
- Your own error log is your accuracy data. The reason the Paper I conclusion is counter-intuitive —
Chapter 1 being the worst place to start — is precisely that it adds the accuracy dimension
⚠️ To be explicit about terms: accuracy here means practice accuracy, not a pass rate, and the two are not convertible. We do not publish pass rates and we make no promises about examination outcomes.
